Christopher M. Strope, a sophomore sociology major at Appalachian State University, died Wednesday after crashing his motorcycle into a dump truck, state highway patrol trooper J.D. Boone said Monday.

SGA announces cabinet

Student Government Association President-elect P. Jud Watkins and Vice President-elect Chris R. Pereira announced their decisions for the 2005-06 SGA cabinet Thursday.

Next year's executive cabinet is as follows: Benjamin R. Allen, treasurer; Lindsey M. Penny, secretary; Christina D. Kapely, director of Public Relations; and Forrest S. Gilliam, director of Local and State Relations.

As April comes to an end, so does the 25th year of National Sexual Assault Awareness month, a month designated to help coordinate efforts to educate and promote the awareness of sexual assault and its impacts.

Boutique holds charity fashion show

Bare Bones Boutique held a fashion show Saturday at the Appalachian Cultural Museum to raise money for the Watauga Humane Society.

The show featured clothes from the boutique modeled by employees of the humane society and younger volunteers.
