Music scholarship recipients to perform

Seven students will feel the heat of the spotlight as they perform tonight at the Fletcher/Hayes/White Scholar Recital. Luckily, these music students are no strangers to the stage.

Drawn from all four classes at Appalachian State University, the students are endowed scholars thanks to awards contributed by the A. J. Fletcher Foundation, the Mariam Cannon Hayes School of Music and Elmer and Lynn White.

'Vagina Monologues' campaigns against violence

The name of the latest play to be presented at Appalachian State University has probably caught a few eyes already.

That play is “The Vagina Monologues,” and the performances are Feb. 4 and 5 at the Blue Ridge Ballroom in Plemmons Student Union.
