Our Perspective... Well, it’s finally done. After nearly four years of delays, seemingly endless construction and plenty of frustration for students, faculty and staff, the Summit Trail Solarium opened yesterday.
WCU fans show lack of class, dignity
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? The answer from the typical Western Carolina student would be, “What’s a woodchuck?” This is not to say the Western student is dumb by them self. It’s hard to go to a second-rate university, with a second-rate athletics program, in a third-rate town and come out looking and smelling like roses.
Think before you make rude remark
Have you ever been standing in line in Welborn Cafeteria or Crossroads Coffeehouse and heard a racial or ethnic slur that just didn’t sit right with you? Or have you ever been sitting at the AppalCART stop waiting to catch a ride when you overhear a piece of someone’s conversation that just makes your stomach flip with anger? These things have been happening to me a lot lately on the Appalachian State University campus. read more
