Appalachian State University did their job Saturday.
Now they’ll wait for the playoff selection committee
to do theirs.
The Battle for the Old Mountain Jug was as intense and physical
as the players said it would be, and then some. But after
Appalachian’s hard-earned 26-18 victory, the talk went
from Western Carolina University to the chances of ASU making
the playoffs. continued

Saint Louis field hockey accepts offer
to join Atlantic 10 conference

Saint Louis University has accepted an offer
to join the Atlantic 10 conference and will begin play in
the 2005-06 season, according to a press release released
by the Atlantic 10 Wednesday.
Saint Louis was a member of Conference-USA in all sports
except field hockey, where they participated in the NorPac
Field Hockey Conference. The NorPac now is left with seven
members, including Appalachian State University.
