Our Perspective
... Religion absences bill a step in right direction |
Year
after year, Appalachian State University strives to increase diversity
among the student body.
At this time, many non-Christian holidays do not appear as scheduled
breaks forcing many students to chose between their religion and
their education.
According to the bill passed by the SGA Senate, many students of
diverse religious backgrounds have not been allowed to complete
assignments they have missed, and some have been guaranteed that
an excused absence will replace the missed class due to religious
observances.

| Sometimes media can give wrong impression |
Anyone who knows me knows about my fear of asbestos. I’m deathly
afraid of it. Merely mentioning asbestos sends chills up my spine.
If at all possible, I try to keep away from old buildings containing
asbestos in fear some of it might get kicked up, inhaled into my
lungs and the next thing I know I’m 50 and dying of cancer.
In reality, I have a much greater chance of dying in a car accident
pulling out of a parking lot than inhaling some small dust particles
that just so happen to get kicked up in the air as I’m walking
through an abandoned building constructed 40 years ago.

Sex connects you emotionally, spiritually and physically with your
partner. Sex is one of the most powerful forces driving our society.
Sex is good; those who teach that sex is dirty should be beaten

The question is not if sex is good or bad, the question is whom
it should be with.
I’ve heard many people compare sex with buying a car or a
pair of shoes. You would never buy a BMW without taking it for a
test drive, or a pair of Jimmy Choo’s without making sure
they fit.
