Our Perspective
... Welcome, charge to Chancellor
Peacock |
The
search has ended.
After nearly six months of meetings, interviews and forums, the
Chancellor Search Committee has found Appalachian State University’s
sixth chancellor—Dr. Kenneth E. Peacock.
The search began within a month after former chancellor Francis
T. Borkowski resigned due to personal reasons last summer.
Peacock has long been a member of the Appalachian State University
family and The Appalachian welcomes him to his new role at this
university.
As Peacock takes office, a new era at Appalachian will begin.

| Be responsible for your pets, financially stable
|
Students who feel they are mature and financially stable enough
to bring home a new addition to the family should think again.
Pets are the exact equivalent of children. They need clothes and

people are lonely and in need of a companion. Others are perfectly
qualified to take on the challenge of being a mommy or daddy.
I love animals, and I would encourage anyone to save a Fido or a
Mimi from the pound. But the feces will hit the fan when students
do not take proper care of their babies.

“hip-hop” categories, which were rarely even broadcast
on the actual show.
Hip-hop musician Kurtis Blow described the beginning of hip-hop.
