104-71 victory against Mars HIll College on Nov. 22. The mens
basketball team currently holds a 2-2 record.
The non-conference
schedule is a long, dark road for the Appalachian State University
mens basketball team, but it has faired well thus far.
The Mountaineers hold a 2-2 record after their
first four games.
The two wins were at home, including the 104-71 season-opener victory
against Mars Hill College and a triple overtime 103-100 win over
the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
The wins marked the first time the Mountaineers
won their first two games since 1997, when the team went 21-8 before
losing in the final game of the Southern Conference Tournament.
Appalachian then went on the road against the
University of South Carolina and lost 71-56, followed by a 101-78
loss to 13th-ranked Marquette University.
