    Behind the scenes of many events at Appalachian State University, such as the recent performance by blues guitarist Keb’ Mo’, is a group that rarely receives any recognition: the Office of Cultural Affairs.
   Among the responsibilities of Cultural Affairs is running the Performing Arts Series, which involves 10-15 events throughout the academic year. However, Cultural Affairs is about more than just bringing performers to Appalachian, said H. Perry Mixter, director since 1991.
