To The Editor:
I want to thank The Appalachian for the kind words it gave about my friend, Pat Cash, who was eulogized in these pages last week.
Most of you know Pat from this past year’s SGA presidential election; however, I had the honor of knowing him a little more personally since I worked with him on the 2002 Elections Committee. I can truly say that he was one of the nicest people I have met at ASU. While we disagreed on many political issues, he was one of my friends and I’m proud to say that.
Pat was a great guy; he was always willing to help you when you needed it. I still remember the time he gave me a ride home after a grueling day of work; he was always generous like that. Pat was also the type of guy you could talk to, a person that could put you at ease. I still remember the last time I saw him, at lunch the week after the election. He was disappointed, but he appeared ready to move on.
Nobody will ever understand why he never talked to anybody about his problems as we did with him about ours. He made ASU a better place for all of us who knew him. I know that heaven is a better place with him there, but we will never understand why he did so now.
Pat, your friends will always remember you.
