The championship title for ASUs
club ice hockey team is considered to be a Miracle on Ice
after a struggling season. They defeated the top three overall
teams from the division.
The Miracle
on Ice is known throughout the hockey community as being one
of the greatest and most historic upsets of all time.
In 1980, American college students played the Russian National Team
in the final game of the Olympics and won.
The game reached outlets much farther than the
rink in Lake Placid, and it has historical and political implications.
