America tries to keep us safe, war necessary

Nobody ever wants a war, but sometimes war is necessary.
In our present situation, I believe war has become necessary, and maybe our only means of solving the current problems facing us.
There have been anti-war protests going on all over America, but my question is: What for?
Solving problems as peacefully as possible should always be the first solution, but the time has come where negotiations and discussions are not solving any part of our current problems.
I applaud America for trying every option before actually going into war.
War is a serious issue and nothing to take lightly.
No country should just rush into something that could affect and possible end many lives.
Yet, a country must defend its people from a possible threat, and that is the real situation and reason we are faced with the possibility of war.
This situation will harm us whether we go to war or not.
The real harm could cost us our freedom as we know it in America.
If America does not go to war, then our freedom as Americans will be put on the line.
“This is not about war; this is about freedom,” an ex-Navy SEAL said.
If Americans do not see our freedom as enough of a reason to go to war, then they are very blind sighted.
Ever since 9-11, there has been fear hanging over America.
Everyone dwells on the knowledge that America could once again be attacked by terrorists if we go to war.
Some also say we are not dealing with terrorism with this war, but I believe we are.
This war is a part of America’s new policy dealing with any kind of terrorism or threat to America.
Saddam Hussein has been a threat to our country for many years and continues to be one today.
America is putting its foot down and saying we are not going to allow anyone to be a threat to us.
Hussein has been given many options and every opportunity to change the outcome, including his latest option of leaving Iraq.
Now if a ruler that has been given so many options to let no harm come to his people continues to ignores them, what type of leader is he?
Since this recent ultimatum has not been heeded, I feel America has every right to go in and unarm this current threat.
Hussein’s reasoning for having nuclear weapons is for the protection of Iraq against other countries, but what is stopping him from using them against America if is he saw us as a threat?
If his claims are true and he does no longer have them, what is stopping him from getting them again in the future?
This is reason enough for me to go to war.
This war is not the government’s way of trying to boost the economy. Yes, it does help, but the economy is not what is behind their reasoning.
They are looking out for you and me.
They want to make this world safe and keep the countries that could threaten our freedom in line.
People may ask why America has taken on the responsibility of looking out for the world.
With power comes responsibility, which is something that America believes strongly in.
We are the example country, and we must do what we think is best for the world.
America must take action, especially when the risk is something every American holds dear: our freedom.
I hope that maybe in some way the results of this war will help relinquish America’s fear, and we will once again be able to go back to living as we did before 9-11.
