Our Perspective... You decide 2003
Student Government Association elections are in full swing as candidates work to persuade students to vote for platforms, personalities and work ethics.
But why should students get involved with this process?
SGA elections can be a vital stepping-stone in the effort to ensure student concerns are well articulated and addressed on this campus.
With last year’s elections generating a disappointing number of students voting, a message of apathy once again rang out loud and clear.
The trend is frightening. Over the past decade, the average number of student voters has been 2,228, only a fraction of the student population.
Don’t count on top seed teams to always win

   Forget Christmas.
March Madness is the most wonderful time of the year.
With a total of 64 games (yes, I included the dreaded play-in game), and 48 of them coming in the span of four days, there will be basketball from noon to midnight for four straight days.
There will also be lots of absent students today and tomorrow.
America tries to keep us safe, war necessary

Nobody ever wants a war, but sometimes war is necessary.
In our present situation, I believe war has become necessary, and maybe our only means of solving the current problems facing us.
There have been anti-war protests going on all over America, but my question is: What for?
Solving problems as peacefully as possible should always be the first solution, but the time has come where negotiations and discussions are not solving any part of our current problems.
