Senior guard, Tiffani Johnson sprints past Wofford defenders in ASU’s 84-65 win Tuesday.
   The Appalachian State University women’s basketball team won in convincing fashion Tuesday night in the George M. Holmes Convocation Center 84-65.
   The visitors from Wofford College kept the game respectable at the onset but as the first half progressed and the Mountaineers began to push the tempo, the Terriers just did not have enough fire power to contend with Appalachian.
   Led by two underclassmen, Kiki Conyers and Lindsey Smith, the Mountaineers showed why the Southern Conference is going to have to worry about Appalachian in the future. Conyers led all scorers with 23, while Smith was not too far behind with 22.

   In their final race of the season, the Appalachian State University club ski and snowboarding team placed well enough to send two groups to more prestigious races.
   The women’s club ski team finished fourth place overall in a field that included rival Lees-McRae College, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, University of Tennessee, Duke University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Western Carolina University and James Madison University.

   In an attempt to solidify their position as a top club team in the state, the Appalachian State University men’s club soccer team has joined forces with other local colleges to form a club soccer league.
