Our Perspective... Judicial affairs reforms needed
The reforms for Student Judicial Affairs recently passed by the Student Government Association are needed and should be implemented as soon as possible.
The reforms, proposed by Senators Ian A. Mance, H. Dustin Bayard, and Paul A. Funderburk, would include a higher standard of evidence required at judicial affairs hearings, allowing a student representative to address the judicial board and require that the board’s decision on the case be unanimous.
It is a relief to see SGA finally try to implement meaningful campus-based legislation, something that will help the student body as a whole.

The beaches of Florida and the lakes of Arizona will soon be crammed with college students trying to drink away the responsibilities of getting an education. These states are buzzing with anticipation. Not over the pending influx of spring breakers, but by the start of spring training.
Thursday marked the day when most Major League pitchers and catchers made the annual pilgrimage to the warmer states to begin to hone their skills.
Violence with violence will not equal peace

The global community is in grave danger.
It is obvious to those concerned that U.S. foreign policy will shortly show the consequences of its corrupt actions. Yet, the logic demonstrated by the supporters of war hold that violence is the only answer.
I am scared. I’m scared that these might be the last days of what we consider to be peaceful. I’m scared because this is just the beginning, and so many will die.
