Instead of putting the typical 5 percent increase in student fees toward things we use every day, such as the computer labs, health services, book rentals, cultural affairs programs and University Recreation equipment, the Board of Trustees has approved the appropriation of this money (and the priorities of the entire university) to the enrichment of the varsity football program, or rather, all varsity athletics at Appalachian.

COMMENTARY

Brad Norman
Sports Beat

The past few commentaries have presented scintillating views on resident housing, acceptance of other people, getting involved in campus activities and the trials and tribulations of our vice president. Not only were these articles informative, they were also either intelligent or relevant to campus life or both.
I’ll be the first one to tell you this article will neither be relevant to the school nor about anything intelligent.

Someone is doing a pretty good job over at Appalachian Popular Programming Society (A.P.P.S.).
Along with the constant Legends shows and other events sponsored by A.P.P.S., Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will visit Appalachian State University to perform in the George M. Holmes Convocation Center.
