The Resident Student
Association (RSA) in each residence hall will hold a series of meetings
beginning Jan. 27 to address reclaiming procedures for on-campus
housing for the 2003-2004 academic year.
[Students, who are encouraged to attend
the meetings, should] pay attention to the due dates. If not, they
may miss their opportunity to reclaim, said Winkler Residence
Hall resident director (RD) Miguel A. Hernandez.
A planned expansion
to the existing Miles Annas Student Services Building will help
cope with the expected student increase, said Dr. Clyde D. Robbins,
director of construction and design.
The project, slated to begin in June of this year,
will create additional offices and mailboxes for the projected growth.
Budget cuts should
not affect summer course offerings, Assistant Director of Summer
Sessions Gail G. Hauser said Friday.
The summer schedule of classes is now available
through AppalNET, and course booklets should arrive in student mailboxes
early next month, Hauser said.
In his first semester
at Appalachian State University, Howard R. Schreiber, originally
from Atlanta, not only dealt with classes but also became one of
the most active senators in Appalachians Student Government
Association (SGA).
At the end of last semester, Schreiber, one of
the two senators from East Residence Hall, was given the Senator
of the Semester Award for his efforts.
