Tuition increase not worthy of attention

Is a $150 tuition increase really worthy of the front page week after week? It’s only $150, which is far less than any student spends in entertainment during a semester. I really don’t think it’s a big deal. If the money helps low-paid employees, that’s great. If it were spent on campus landscaping that would be fine too. I know what you’re thinking: his mommy and daddy pay his tuition. WRONG! I work a full-time job and attend school full time while paying for school with financial aid. The fact is we attend one of the least expensive universities in the state, if not the country.
I would imagine most students don’t really care about the increase anyway, because unlike me their parents pay their tuition. I feel there is simply a small group of students who love to get up on their soapbox and run off at the mouth about anything and everything they can. Let’s be realistic here, our tuition pays for everything on this campus and the whiners will be the first ones to complain that the computers are too old or the library is outdated. These things are all paid for with the almighty dollar!
