To the Editor:
On Saturday, Sept. 29, thousands of ASU fans were privileged to watch one of the most emotionally moving and powerful halftime shows that this university has ever seen. The Marching Mountaineer Band’s patriotic tribute honoring the United States, our armed forces and those Americans who tragically lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 was absolutely wonderful. They are to be congratulated and commended.
I have always been proud to be an alumna of the ASU Marching Mountaineer Band, but never more proud than watching and listening to their beautiful show that past Saturday. Their tribute to the American spirit will never be forgotten by those who were in Kidd Brewer Stadium that day. The football team won the game, but they won the hearts of the Mountaineer fans.
To Mr. Scott Tobias and the Marching Mountaineers: Thank you for your hard work, dedication to excellence and for your absolutely incredible performance. Outstanding!
